The original KFC recipe is a secret blend of ingredients that the KFC fast food chain uses to produce its fried chicken.
In the late 1930s, Harland Sanders gas station in Corbin, Kentucky was so popular with its fried chicken that Sanders decided to removing gas pumps and build a restaurant and motel in their place. While perfecting his mystery recipe with eleven herbs and spices, 

Sanders located that frying chicken become extraordinarily slow, requiring half-hour in keeping with order.

Frying chicken took half the time, but resulted in dry, unevenly cooked chicken. In 1939, it was discover that use  pressure fryer produced moist, flavorful chicken in eight or nine minutes.After Sanders fashioned a partnership with Pete Harman, they commenced advertising the hen in the Fifties asKentucky Fried Chicken, with the company shipping premixed seasonings to restaurants to 

keep the recipe secret.  He claimed ingredients are "on everyone's shelf".
